Description (from LCBO):
The Athene (a-THEE-nee) takes its name from the burrowing owl, a.k.a., Athene cunicularia. Hand-harvested and sourced from the Black Sage Bench, this is a co-fermented blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is a consistent, effortlessly powerful stunner that will deliver superb depth of cassis, black fruit, cocoa, tobacco, pepper, violet, oak spice and woodsmoke. One of this wine's most appealing traits is its unerring ability to balance its intensity, structure and firmness with overall elegance. You will find this to be a ripe, round wine that will pair beautifully with roast beef or lamb stew.
